The MCT500 is a digital only unit and features 4 digital outputs: industry standard balanced, coax and optical outputs plus our exclusive MCT connector. To enjoy your CDs, it can be paired with any product that has standard digital inputs and a digital-to-analog convertor (DAC). This includes select McIntosh home theater processors, integrated amplifiers and preamplifiers.

For SACD playback, the MCT500’s proprietary MCT output needs to be connected (via the included cable) to a McIntosh product with an MCT input. This includes the D1100, C55, C2800, C49 and D150 preamplifiers, MA9500, MA8950, MA7200 or MA5300 integrated amplifiers or MAC7200 receiver. When the MCT500 is connected to one of these devices, a secure digital connection is created, allowing for the playback of the high definition audio found on SACDs. Regular CDs can also be played over the MCT connection.

All common disc types can be played on the MCT500, including SACD, CD, CD-R/RW and DVD-R. A twin laser optical pickup assures optimal disc reading. A USB input is conveniently located on the front panel for easy access. In addition to store bought CDs and SACDs, popular file formats such as AAC, AIFF, ALAC, DSD (up to DSD128), FLAC, MP3, WAV (up to 24-bit/192kHz) and WMA can be played from user generated CD or DVD Data Discs and USB flash drives.1

Disc handling is smooth and quiet thanks to an advanced disc transport with a precision die-cast aluminum tray. An advanced digital servo provides fast, quiet and accurate operation. A disc’s audio data is read at twice the normal rate insuring better disc tracking and error correction processing.

Integration with other McIntosh system components is achieved via the Power Control and data ports. The MCT500 is wrapped in classic McIntosh styling with a polished stainless steel chassis, black glass front panel, illuminated logo and aluminum end caps. Contact your local dealer to learn more.

HELPFUL AUDIO SIGNAL INFORMATION
The successor to the popular MB20, the MB25 retains all the MB20 features while introducing enhancements for an elevated user experience. Notable among its upgrades is an illuminated front glass panel that provides insights into audio signal rates and connection types. The MB25 also offers the flexibility to select the desired input in transmit mode, giving you greater control over your audio experience. Finally, Power Control has been added so it can be easily turned on and off with the rest of your system.

When used in Transmit mode, the input name and any applicable signal rate will be displayed on the left side of the front panel, while the connection type will be shown on the right side.

ABUNDANT CONNECTIVITY
Remarkably versatile, the MB25 features an array of inputs and outputs to allow for diverse system configurations. Analog connectivity options include both balanced and unbalanced stereo inputs and outputs. ULTIMATE CONVENIENCE: RECEIVE OR TRANSMIT
As a transceiver, the MB25 can function as either a Bluetooth Receiver or Transmitter (but not both at the same time). Simply set the switch on the back panel to the proper setting for the desired usage. In Receiver mode, you can stream audio from compatible Bluetooth devices to the MB25, and then use the variety of output connections to play the audio through your sound system. Alternatively, in Transmitter mode, you can stream the music from physical media sources, such as CDs or vinyl records, to Bluetooth-enabled headphones or speakers.
 

In Receiver mode there will be a blue LED above the Pair button, while it will be green in Transmitter mode.

For multi-system integration within the home, the MB25 offers a convenient solution to enable wireless audio distribution between systems with ease by simply connecting an MB25 to each system.1 If you already have an MB20, then it can be used in conjunction with an MB25 to achieve this multi-room, multi-system configuration.

The equalizer can also be triggered IN or OUT using the rear panel’s EQ Control Trigger, giving you seamless control over when the MQ112 works its magic. Also, by using one of the programmable triggers in the audio system’s preamplifier, the EQ can be switched IN or OUT depending on input or amplifier choice. VERSATILE AUDIO SYSTEM COMPONENT
Both balanced and unbalanced inputs and outputs are included on the versatile MQ112, making it easy to add it to your stereo system: simply place it between the preamplifier and power amplifier(s) and connect them all together using the inputs and outputs of your choice. The input type you use does not have to match the output type; for example, you could connect a preamplifier (or another audio component with volume control like some CD Players) via the unbalanced inputs, but then connect the MQ112 to your power amplifier(s) with balanced cables via the balanced outputs. The MQ112 can also be used with integrated amplifiers, provided the integrated amp has removable jumpers so the preamplifier section can be disconnected from the power amplifier section.

The versatility of the MQ112 is further evident in its second pair of outputs, which opens a world of possibilities for enjoying your music. You can play the same music through a separate stereo system in another room, bi-amp a single pair of speakers for optimal sound control, or connect a subwoofer for that extra bass punch.

For subwoofers without stereo inputs, the second output on the MQ112 can be set to MONO; two subwoofers can also be connected this way. At the heart of the MDA200 is the McIntosh DA2 Digital Audio Module. The DA2 has 7 digital audio inputs: 2 coaxial, 2 optical, 1 USB and 1 MCT (for use with our MCT series of SACD/CD Transports), and 1 audio-only HDMI Audio Return Channel (ARC)1 connection. The DA2 is powered by a next generation, Quad Balanced, 8-channel, 32-bit Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC). This audiophile-grade DAC features improved dynamic range and improved total harmonic distortion. The DA2 supports high resolution digital audio playback, as the USB input supports native playback of up to DSD512 and DXD up to 384kHz, while the coax and optical inputs can decode digital music up to 24-bit/192kHz.

The HDMI (ARC) input allows TVs with a compatible HDMI (ARC) output to be connected to your home stereo system to bring a new level of audio performance to your TV and movie watching that TV speakers or soundbars just can’t provide. Popular multi-channel audio formats from Dolby® and DTS® are supported and will be expertly converted to 2-channel audio for proper playback.

The DA2 has received Roon Tested designation from Roon Labs, which can be especially useful if you have an extensive library of digital music. As a Roon Tested partner, McIntosh has provided equipment to Roon for testing with a variety of different operating systems and computers, and shared information about its design and capabilities.

Additionally, since digital music formats and technologies change and improve over time, it is possible to replace the DA2 in the MDA200 with a newer Digital Audio Module should one be introduced in the future. It is a small (its footprint not much bigger than a smartphone), stand-alone, complete Bluetooth streaming solution that does not require any third-party apps to use.

As a transmitter/receiver, the MB20 has been designed to provide a superior Bluetooth connection to audio equipment that lacks Bluetooth connectivity. As such, it has been engineered as a Class 1 Bluetooth device. Class 1 devices can typically operate at a range of up to 150 feet (45.7 meters)1 in ideal conditions with limited obstructions. As a Receiver, the MB20 employs an extremely sensitive receiver for better reception, even from Class 2 devices, with the maximum range determined by the capabilities of both actively paired devices. An external antenna helps maximize its range for better performance. As a Transmitter, it has a range 10x greater than that of a typical Class 2 Bluetooth device.

inputs and outputs to connect it to your home audio system – most notably amongst them being balanced inputs and outputs, making it one of the only Bluetooth transmitter receivers to offer these superior audio connections that help deliver top-quality audio performance. For connecting it to your system via analog cables, it includes 1 stereo set of both balanced and unbalanced inputs, along with a stereo set of balanced and unbalanced outputs. For digitally connecting it to your system, such as for use with an outboard Digital-to-Analog Convertor (DAC), it has 1 each of both coaxial and optical inputs and outputs.2

The MB20 uses Bluetooth® 5.0 with support for both the high bitrate Advanced Audio Coding (AAC) standard as well as Qualcomm® aptX™ HD for hi res audio playback. It also features Qualcomm aptX Low Latency for improved audio transmission speed to deliver sound in sync with applicable visual media. When used as a Receiver, the MB20 uses a high-performance 32-bit DAC with 192kHz internal processing for optimum sound quality; when used in combination with a separate outboard DAC, the MB20’s digital output is fixed at 96kHz to be compatible with most third-party DACs in order to maximize performance and maintain audio signal integrity. When in Transmitter mode, it uses an equally capable high-performance Analog-to-Digital Convertor (ADC) with 110dB Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR).

It comes in a black, custom aluminum chassis with a black glass top panel, letting it fit right in with any McIntosh system. The MB20 will also work with any non-McIntosh home audio system that has the proper inputs and outputs. Analog outputs for both balanced and unbalanced cables connect the MB50 to your system’s amplifier or preamplifier; digital outputs are also included. An analog plus two digital inputs let you connect audio source components such as CD players or turntables (with appropriate phono preamplifier) to the MB50, allowing it to act as a mini-preamp. The MCD350 SACD/CD Player delivers a pure playback experience from your SACDs and CDs.

It features a balanced 2-channel, 32-bit/192kHz Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC). Fixed analog stereo outputs are available in both balanced and unbalanced offerings; a coax and optical output are also available if you prefer to send the digital audio signal to an external DAC, preamplifier or home theater processor. All analog plus the digital coax outputs are gold plated or superior corrosion resistance.

The MCD350 features 2x read speed so that all discs placed in its rigid aluminum die-cast tray are read at higher speeds allowing their data to be stored in a buffer memory for a better error correction and tracking. A twin laser optical pickup uses a single objective lens with two laser units each employing different wavelengths that are optimized for SACD and CD playback. All common disc types are compatible with the MCT450, including SACD, CD, CD-R, and CD-RW (MP3 and WMA). A twin laser optical pickup assures optimal disc reading while 2x read speed provides better reading of damaged CDs and CD-R/RWs. Your discs are carefully handled by a premium aluminum die cast CD tray. Power control and data ports simplify the MCT450’s operational state from other McIntosh system components.
