Goldring 1012GX

This hand-built cartridge uses the acclaimed Gyger II nude diamond stylus. A fine-line elliptical type with a 6 µm small radius it gives smooth, extended highs, low distortion and reproduces a highly detailed and dynamic sound. Advanced diamond tip polishing ensures excellent tracking ability and reduces record wear. Because it fills the record groove more completely due to its larger major radius, the Gyger II represents a major upgrade over normal elliptical stylus types.

Low Mass Pocan® Body
The 1000 series uses a strong one piece body which holds the fixed parts securely in place. Made from a special type of ultra-rigid, glass reinforced polyester called Pocan, the body can be tightly bolted to the head shell for maximum efficiency and optimum sound quality. The user replaceable stylus carrier slots tightly into the body with a locating pin preventing unwanted vibrations which would otherwise colour the sound. An integral mu-metal can keeps the generator parts shielded from hum-inducing stray magnetic fields. Because Pocan has a high strength-to-mass ratio, the overall mass of the G1000 series cartridges is kept below 6.5 g. Low mass and moderate compliance keep the natural arm/cartridge resonance within safe limits for easy matching to a wide range of tonearms.

High Efficiency Magnetic Circuit
Finely etched mu-metal is laminated to form the pole pieces around which are fitted two formerless coils of four thousand turns each. This unique design reduces mass and also makes for a very efficient magnetic circuit producing a higher than average output. This construction also reduces the loss at high frequencies inherent in conventional designs, making for a smooth and extended frequency response.

IMPROVED ORIGINAL REVOX TAPE HEADS
The B77 MK III is equipped with a three-motor drive
with direct drive and servo control. Two winding motors bring the tape reels up to operating speed in a
very short time or slow them down quickly, precisely
and sensitively. The winding motors are particularly
strong and robust. The technology of the controlled
capstan tone motor, which is sophisticated down to
the last detail, compensates for even barely perceptible fluctuations in speed. Revox relies on the engine
design that has been tried and tested for decades.
All Revox tape heads are professionally designed
and developed in-house and they are manufactured to the highest quality using our own processes.
Revox tape machines each have a tape head for
playback, recording and one erase head. The precision of the tape heads is crucial for the recording
and playback quality. The new Revox B77 MK III uses
improved original tape heads with a special alloy for
a significantly extended service life. Everything to
ensure the highest longevity and sound quality.

And McIntosh has a long and distinguished history with radio and tuners. The McIntosh MR78 from the 1970s is considered by many to be one of the best – if not the best – tuners ever made. The MR89 AM/FM Tuner carries on with this tradition of tuner excellence by letting you enjoy the abundance of free music streaming over invisible airwaves.

The MR89 features exclusive McIntosh radio frequency (RF) circuitry that is capable of receiving both strong FM signals from nearby stations – something that can overload and cause distortion in lesser tuners – while also being able to tune in weaker FM signals located further away with little to no noise. The MR89’s advanced signal quality monitor can display detailed signal, multipath, and noise levels of the incoming RF signals to help fine tune optimal placement of your AM or FM antenna. It comes with our RAA2 AM antenna that features a 20-foot (6m) long cable that provides flexibility in placing the antenna for the best possible radio signal reception; your McIntosh dealer will be able to assist you in choosing the correct FM antenna based on your home’s location relative to your favorite FM stations. McIntosh MR89 AM/FM Tuner
A multitude of advancements have been made in the MR89 to make your radio listening more pleasurable. Sensitivity, Signal to Noise Ratio, Harmonic Distortion, Channel Selectivity, and Stereo Separation were thoroughly analyzed and thoughtfully updated resulting in substantial performance improvements for each. A variety of new features have also been added. To help with lower quality FM stereo broadcasts, Stereo Blending has been upgraded with the introduction of a new High Blend option which blends the high frequency portion of the audio frequency range more aggressively. The new Softmute feature reduces audio output when receiving low quality stations or between-station static and noise. Another added method to reduce noise and enhance your listening experience is the new Highcut function that reduces high frequency audio content. Several aggressiveness settings are available for Stereo Blending, High Blend, Softmute, and Highcut to suit station quality and your listening preferences.
